I hope you and/or Chris are going to write a book about your journey to Dagim. I love your last paragraph- it really reminds me of how great/important being a parent is- which is easy to lose sight of amidst piles of diapers and highchairs with caked on gradu (but perhaps I reveal too much about the Cooper-household).

I so relate to your need to keep some of this private. I still haven't blogged about our first meeting with Abe, and we're coming up on the one-year anniversary (unbelievable). I can't post that photo either, and while I love when families post videos of their first meetings, I don't think I ever can. I haven't even watched it myself yet, though I probably will feel compelled to soon. Thanks for this post.

Oh, I love this.

I feel/felt exactly the same way about the personal nature of first meeting Ruthie---I did not want to share it at first, but think I will share some of it soon, now that it's settling in. I totally understand.

I'll love reading anything else you share.

I'm still reading your blog! Albeit, 4 days after you actually posted, but really - who's keeping track...

This brought back so many emotions. You wrote about meeting Dagim so beautifully.

Really nice, Shasta. I most enjoyed the "first time" looks on your faces. And this...

"We brought him upstairs to the bedroom and we all took a nap on the bed together. When he woke up, he apparently decided that I was his best bet."

Thank you for sharing this.

This is so beautifully written and now I have tears just rolling down my cheeks. And that picture of you and Chris seeing Dagim for the first time...absolutely priceless. I love it. I am hoping that someday you will share more pictures of your Ethiopia trip with me - maybe while sipping a glass of wine or sweet tea:) while our boys loudly run through the house around us! Thank you for sharing!
