I hope you and/or Chris are going to write a book about your journey to Dagim. I love your last paragraph- it really reminds me of how great/important being a parent is- which is easy to lose sight of amidst piles of diapers and highchairs with caked on gradu (but perhaps I reveal too much about the Cooper-household).

I so relate to your need to keep some of this private. I still haven’t blogged about our first meeting with Abe, and we’re coming up on the one-year anniversary (unbelievable). I can’t post that photo either, and while I love when families post videos of their first meetings, I don’t think I ever can. I haven’t even watched it myself yet, though I probably will feel compelled to soon. Thanks for this post.

I feel/felt exactly the same way about the personal nature of first meeting Ruthie—I did not want to share it at first, but think I will share some of it soon, now that it’s settling in. I totally understand.

This is so beautifully written and now I have tears just rolling down my cheeks. And that picture of you and Chris seeing Dagim for the first time…absolutely priceless. I love it. I am hoping that someday you will share more pictures of your Ethiopia trip with me – maybe while sipping a glass of wine or sweet tea:) while our boys loudly run through the house around us!
